Since my company selected my laptop for me (with
MSWin XP Pro SP2), I do not know which features
are common among all laptops and which features I
need to ask about when I purchase my own laptop.

Every time I move my mouse over something (a folder, certain parts of many
webpages, an icon on the desktop, etc) this 'helpful' little yellow box pops
up
with 'more information' such as the complete path but also occasionally entire

I want to create a .bat file that is unique to each user on my XP Home box.
1) in what folders do I locate these files?
2) does the file name matter?
3) how do I tell XP to run the scripts at logon?

When I click "regitedit.exe", the whole bunch of the registry pops up.
I am wondering where the registry file is located and stored.
I wish to store the registry file in different location as a backup.

in msword i have created alternate key strokes for special polish
characters...  how can i propogate the characters in other ms applications

For WinXP I am just trying to clean a program, the HP software for my
printer for a clean unintall.  Add/remove does not remove the folder in

I am having a problem with a new Dell with windows XP .Sound is sometimes
distorted .This seems to coincide with the Task Manager CPU usage indicator
going from green to red. Does this indicate insufficient memory ?? Have 256
MB and even the microsoft sound sounds sick !!! ...
