Seems to me I was able to remove the Desktop Icon for my recycle bin with
Tweak UI for my XP Home Edit.
I have the Tweak UI for XP but can't seem to find the command to do it with
Tweak UI anymore.  Seems like I simply deselected the check box for it.

On switching pc on I am given the option to either open Windows normally or
in safe mode.  It doesn't matter which option I choose though it won't start
up anyway.  It keeps rebooting itself, starting from scratch and going
through the same cycle all over again

When programs are installed, some programs are automatically added to
Startup and some are not.
Some startup items can be easily  removed by msconfig.
How can I add some essential programs manually to Startup?   Jorge
