Is there a way to tell whether specific KB###### had been installed (either manually or thru WinUpdate), providing KB######.log files and $Uninstall_KB######$ folders are regularly deleted?

After upgrading my explorer to IE 7, immediately my computer started working slow and while exploring any folder or start menu it will hang up. I can access the file through link. Also computer has started giving bip sound continuously.Windows has stopped reading DVD drive.

In my "Add or Remove Programs" I noticed a red X on the upper right side of the icon for "Adobe Flash Player Active X". Could someone please inform me what the red X signifies? Is it telling me this program is not working and should I remove it?

I have just bought Intergral 8 GB USB flash drive. It on shows as 2 GB on my desktop but as full 8GB on laptop! Desktop shows my other 4GB fash drive as 4GB. Is my new flash drive faulty or do I have a o/s problem?

I use WinXP/2 on a laptop. Suddenly I can't get sound to work. I can view movies from CNN etc. but no sound. The volume icon on the taskbar is shown with the mute button unchecked and the slider about 1/3 up. Any ideas what I can do to recover sound?
