How does one tell which version of a program one is using in Windows XP? I went to My Computer > C drive > Program files, but I don't see anything about which version it is.

When I click-on the back button(arrow) in IE7 browser, it sometimes takes two or more clicks to go back one page. Sometimes one click will take it back three or four pages, etc. Sometimes after one or several clicks and waiting and waiting, all pages are gone and I'm back on ...

I've been mulling over a little problem. I bought a Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with Vista on it. I put up with Vista as long as possible (until it completely folded up and there was no method of restoring it.)

Replaced the hard drive, reinstalled windows XP pro and my software. my computer locks up after being idle for awhile screen goes black fans are running hard, and the only way to get it back is to do a hard restart. any help would be appreciated.

I have used these to scan my registry. Many errors (1700) were reported. Are these things safe to clean the Registry? Can this cleaning be done by XP or Vista? Peter.
