I dont know what I did but my disck cleanup app has
stopped working on my new comp.. I was using it but now
if I select disck clean up it either just goes away and
does nothing or it starts to clean up compressed files

Everytime I try to close a problem program using the
Ctrl/Alt/Del keys, the only thing that pops up is the CPU
Usage screen........and not just one, either, sometimes
over 30.  How Can I get Task Manager back to the way it's

I keep getting the following message in Explorer:  
Explorer Caused an Invalid Page Fault in Module Shell32.dll
This program will now shut down.
The error is occuring more frequently.  Here is the text

My computer works just fine until I try to change font
sizes and other activities in Pinncale's video editing
Studio 8 - then the program freezes.  Same thing happens
when playing the Zoo programs. The windows xp system seems

Often even Task Manager starts then disappears. I ran A/V
in Safe Mode, it found over 4K worms in System Restore
files, and cleaned it.  But still the CPU spikes like my
heartbeat.  The Processes screen says it's the syscfg.exe

I am running XP home and have selected the automatic
update feature.  The updates KB824141 & KB828035 have
been downloaded 30-40 times but each time the udate fails
to install.  What is wrong.  Are these updates needed?

I had WindowsXP upgrade installed on Win98se at BestBuy
service center and have been back twice w/ same problem
which is when I select option to restart computer it
hangs and only gets to the message "Windows is shuting

Just upgraded to XP pro, and wondered what services I
could stop from loading at startup, to improve systen
performance etc.
I have an adsl internet connection via an adsl modem & no

I downloaded and tried to install sp1 for windows xp pro, but during the
installation, it said it cannot continue because the windows license is not
valid or something of that sort. What is this and how can I work around it?

no matter how i start up...it always goes to a screen,
where an error message is displayed.  
The message shows - C:\$Secure is corrupt and unreadable.  
Please run your CHKDSK utility.
