I recently downloaded a bunch of updates for my computer.
Now my computer logs itself onto the internet and I am
getting pop up ads from internet exployer what seems like
every few seconds. I am VERY unhappy with this!!!!! How

Does anyone know why when I open the "search" companion
(Start, Search) in XP the dialog box opens but it is
blank.  I've tried the fix found on the Microsoft website
but it didn't fix my problem.

I set up a desktop to be able to accept remote connections
but I am now getting this messsage:

I have multiple sessions of Svchost.exe that are running
at the same time.  One of them has caused my CPU to be
pegged at 100%.  Any suggestions on what could have
happened.

scince i installed several more programs it seems like i have to many processes running when i start windows. i shut off the ones in the system tray that i dont want running all the time bbut there are a lot of them left in the task manager. i dont want to uninstall everything ...

When i startup my pc, it runs up a warning of low on memory and paging blah blah.
Then it will auto reboot itself and everything repeats.
Its also the same when i use F8 into safe mode. It doesn't help.
Can anyone help me?

My XP Prof. system reboots automatically after the XP welcome screen (so just before the screen where I could select my account). What could cause this and how can I prevent this behaviour

I bought a computer that was originally installed with
Microsoft ME but it came with an upgrade for XP.  I want
to format my hard drive and I have not done it before.  I
am assuming that I have to reinstall ME, then go ahead

Help!  I would appreciate anyone's help on this.  I have

For some reason, a few days ago when my computer was
running particularly slow, I hit CNTRL=ALT+DEL to close a
non-responsive program and I received the following error

When I first got DSL a year ago, newsgroup pictures would
open nice and fast.  At some point over the last year they
began downloading quite slowly and I don't know why.
