was having a problem with computer turning on my screen that is now fixed but now when i bring up my computer it says cmos checksum error defaults loaded how can i fix this as i belive this is why my system is shuting its self down

I would like to remove or discard unwanted and not needed data from my disks.  Is there a tutorial or service that will help me decide what I can and cannot remove.  For instance, there is a lot of uninstall data for windows updates.  Can this be removed if my current WindowsXP ...

I've been having a problem with my cursor jumping to wherever my mouse pointer is resting.  Anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?  Its nearly impossible to type e-mails or anything else for that matter.....HELP!

I have 2 questions regarding automatic updates.
Two of the settings offer the option of being notified.
It is my understanding that only an Adminstrator will

When I start my computer it goes through the memory check
and device check fine but after or during verifying data

i have various problems with Internet Explorer.  
Firstly, the home page keeps resetting to some unwelcome
search engine.  my outsourced IT supplier tells me that

I have a really annoying issue where every now and again
my windows XP home edition start to lock up.
What happens is that the system seems to hang for 30
seconds or so, then come back to life for a couple of

Can any one help me , my wife accidently did a Restore on
my XP 2003 comp which has lost everything that we had
saved. I am concern for my children as there is a lot of

I feel I may have missed something. Everytime I go into

Kay here's the setup:
Custom built about 3yrs ago
XPpro (all updates and hotfixes installed)
A7N8X Deluxe rev1.4 (all bios and chipset drvrs current)
NTFS/FAT3214 Jan 2004 14:21 GMT1
My cpmputer has a 60 GB HD (FAT32) and a 250 GB HD
(NTFS).  Recently I have been having problems
accessing/transferring files between the two HD's.  Could
the problem be noncompatibility between FAT32 and NTFS?  I
