Hi - my system recently started taking several minutes to
boot up. When it does, I get an advisory box saying I'm
missing "sasync.dll", and when I shut it down, another
box telling me to wait while "wupdate.exe" runs. Any idea

When I start at "My Computer" , go into my "C" drive,
then enter "MY Music" folder, I cannot go backwards to
my "C" drive.  It will not respond.  Has this happened to
anyone else?

Someone give me a clue. I was having a problem with the
Blue Screen Of Death which just got worse and worse. This
was after I had a problem with the W32Swen virus which I
think I had fixed. So I Reformatted and reloaded XP. Now

I been using task scheduler to run weekly virus scan,when
away from home.never had a problem,a couple months ago I
found that it would no longer run tasks.checked log no
error reports.Have not found any info. on subject.has

My pc works fine apart from that it freezes if I leave it
alone for a while, it's basically just the screen as my
disk drives work. I find myself having to turn the power
off.

I've heard you can create an image backup of the
harddrive and despite all the searching in help files and
on the knowledge base, I am unable to find and info. I
have just reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled XP

A program called svchost consumes too many resources
about 60% causing my cpu usage to climb to 100%. I
checked for viruses. I work on a 500mhz pentium 3 cpu
with all updates and service packs installed for xp.

My HP Pavilion 310n came with XP and Office installed. No
CDs came with it (Best Buy). Now I cannot download
upgrades for Outlook and Office without CDs. HP's tech
support is hopeless. Any idea where I can find a solution?

I have a Lucent Win Modem which I believe is 56K.  I am
using Earthlink Accelerator.  My computer was connecting
at 115 Kbps, which I never understood, but it made me
happy.  Right after I installed some Microsoft updates,

I seem to have a corrupt file...c:\winnt\system32
\dllcache\dxapi.sys.  Is there a way to "clean" this
without losing data?

When open the search feature it opens the windows
explorer without giving me the option to select what type
of search is to be done or for what. It is totally blank
except the menu's. Appreciate any help.
