The damn thing won't shut down. I to wish to correct this

Windows XP Home will not boot up fully.
It boots as far as (nearly the desktop) and then restarts.
There are no erroe messages or anything.
When it restarts it does a chkdsk but does'nt find any

i am having problems with the "shared music" folder in
the "shared documents" folder instead being called "my
music", and the "my videos" folder in "my documents" is
