I keep getting an error message something like this.
system shut down initiated by NT authority system
remote Procedure call service terminate unexpectingly.
I tried to get the exact message but it shuts down to fast

I receive the above message and the system shuts down.
Also svchost is running constantly at almost 100% of cpu.  
What do I do?

I recently installed XP Home SP1 on a fresh MAXTOR 160 Gig hard drive
(6Y160P0) and I get a horrendously long boot.
Bootvis says I spend over 160 seconds doing the disk init step ( I see no
flickering of the drive LED during this period).  Any thoughts as to the

   My puter's been running for last 4 days.  I thought
it was shut down.  Anyway I noticed she was frozen on the

maintenance or under run (cleanmgr.exe).  It just won't

I am unable to open ANY program on my home computer. Each attempt
yields that it cannot find the ".exe" file for that program. I can't
even get into system restore or internet explorer. Even right clicking
on the desktop to go into the properties does not work. Any

choose drive c  then ok then it stops.usually i can see
the progress but now i dont.if i go to task manager to
processes disk cleanup is running at 99cpu.what can i do
