When I try to start any program (IE, Word, Outlook, etc) there is a long delay (1-2 minutes) before anything happens on my system. Once in the application, everything seems to operate fine.

When I give the command to clean-up my C-drive the CPU immediately jumps to 100% occupied and the PC freezes. All other applications are switched off, as is the ADSL connection.

I have noticed on several machines that I work on, with windows XP pro and home, are running at 99% CPU usage, with a System Idle process of 99% too. This does not quite add up right, as sysidle is supposed to be 100%-cpu
