 I have installed Windows XP on the C: drive which is
about 11 GB. At first, it taoke 3 GB with the SP1 and
updates from update.Microsoft.com. Now, there is only 4
GB's free space knowing that I installed all the other

Just updated a day ago to Windows XP from windows 98.  I
am getting occasional random nonsensical text appear on
Word, Internet browsers or anything with text
capabilities.  Anitvirus is running and so is firewall so

When in windows explorer in the "View" drop down
under "Choose Details" I am unable to see what details
have been chosen in the dialog box as the check marks are
not visible.

weird problem has surfaced in that, whenever an option
box comes up in Windows, the checks/ticks don't appear
over the boxes.
Anyone else experienced this and know what the fix is?

Why does my PC freeze anytime almost all the time. Local PC shop says "I don't know what's wrong with it?"  Originaly installed with NT, 128 RAM.  Wiped, installed XP Pro and another 128.

my modem is a dial up type ( outside of bt's broadband range ) and it has
started connecting very slowly..ie 28 kb/sec.........instead of the usual 40
to 45 kb/sec........any ideas would be gratefully recieved as my system is

I am using Corel Draw and trying to import graphics. I am
getting a message that says I have used too many temp
files. I deleted all temp files - still getting message.
SoI searched in hidden files and came up with 7000 temp

I've tried to install service pack 1 on xp pro, always get "service pack 1
setup canceled", then the windows disappeared. Tried microsoft kb solutions,
didn't help, any other suggestions?

 Okay, no mater what date I choose in system restore it
does nothing!  I have a sinking feeling something is very
wrong here.  I am also finding some difficulty with
memory.  Is this something anyone has run into?

I loaded for the first time earthlink. Once installed was
not allowing to use website called earthlink support
center stated I had a virus need to update my windows XP
and download and install all critical updates well
