Any help is much appreciated!
I have had a problem with Windows/Office update for over
six months.  Whenever I try to scan for updates I get the
following error:

I have a new workstation P4 2.4 gHz that came with XP on
it. When I login to my domain it takes up to 30 seconds
to get into Windows. My previos workstation was Windows

I have the power-saving feature turned on that will
automatically shut off your hard drives when they're not
being used. A nice feature, especially since one of my
drives has a very high-pitched whine that you really only

Ok first off I'm not exactly sure if explorer.exe is the
problem, but let me explain what happened.
I got a DVD burner and had been burning CDs with it fine.
I finally found a reason to burn a DVD and decided to do

I had to do a system restore (twice) and now more than
half of my disk space is used up! I searched the
knowledge base and could not find anything on this.  Is
there a way to delete something in the restore points

Downloading and installing the updates takes so long and
then sometimes fails to install. It seems like it is not
worth the bother yet they seem to be important. Can the

Two processes from a recent program i used were not
uninstalled when I uninstalled the program using
add/remove programs. The uninstall was successful in that
no errors were reported and a pop-up stated the uninstall

ok,, i got the nasty blue screen, but i no longer have a
windows Pro disk... iv been doing the readin and i know
the commands i need to type but i need the disk to type
them.. however i do have a windows xp office disk.. will

My computer would boot fine, (Dell Inspirion w/ XP) and
at very random times it would do this: It acts like im
holding down the Windows button when I am typing. Ex.

Nothing on Microsoft is working right.  Sometimes I can
get in and sometimes I can't.  Can't access Windows
Update, can't use anything in MSN that requires my user
name and password.  Usually says page unavailabe.  Some

whenever i try to remove programs no longer needed the
window INSTALL.LOG FILE not found...huh?
