Client on a laptop using winxp (home ed. I think but not sure), saying that
his computer is running a lot slower than it used to.
Can this be true, and if so, what can be done to improve and/or maintain

i'm running windows xp professional & everytime i play a
music file, play a cd, or try & burn a cd my computer
freezes, it would randomly freeze at times as well

Does Windows XP need or use system32.exe. If not can I
safely delete it and the registry entry that calls it on
startup?

In trying to delete (with no success) some persistent listings in the
Favorites folder in the Start column, I goofed and deleted the Favorites and

I have found out that XP Home version does have Backup but does not include
the ASR (Automatic System Restore)  function.  If instead of loading Backup
(ntbackup.msi) from the Home CD, I loaded it off an XP Pro CD, would ASR
work?
