I delete listings in Favorites but the same list keeps reappearing every time I log on to my computer. I cannot find any of them in the Registry. Is there any way to permanently remove these from the list?

one of the users on my computer has lost all of her documents from the my docs folder. it is completely empty. also, in event viewer this is completely empty. how can this happen and how can i recover them. i have up to date virus and firewall which do not report any intrusions.
