My dispaly window now has a black border all the way
around it of about 1.5 inches...on both the lcd of my VAio
and the external monitor..but  get this, if I take the
laptop off the docking station and reboot it will come up

cidaemon.exe is using all of my system resources and will
not stop.  I understand cisvc.exe restarts cidaemon.exe
if it uses 40 MB of RAM.  This is happening after each
restart of cidaemon.exe and so it is caught in a never

I went away for two weeks and left my computer in the hands
of my parents. When I came back I found that there were
over 400 pop up programs on my system. I first used
Ad-Aware 6.0 to clean them out, and then finished off with

i keep getting an error pop up that says An exception
occured while trying to run "C:\WINDOWS\System32
\btiein.dll,download"

I have no idea how this happened but shortcuts to any of my *.exe links in
my system open up with the command prompt DOS window. Also at startup any of
my startup programs are trying to open in this "DOS" mode and I get an error
on many of them saying that there is "not enough ...

My event viewer/applications log shows no errors except
this one.  It goes on non-stop.  It says the following:
The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during
its internal processing.  HRESULT was 80040154 from line

help! I'm running windows xp. My problem is after windows
is loaded, and u click on user name windows loads and
either stops responding or restarts. I ran a factory
restore and this hasnt helped my problem.

out.  My anti virus doesn't work right and either does my

when i boot my system i get a message box with the header
reading autoup~1.exe and the actual message reads cannot
find or load libexpat.dll. i have located this file on the
internet, but do not know which folder under system32 to

My system Volume Information folders are all corrupt. I
get an access denied error whenever I try to access them.
This also seems to be causing Windows to pause for several
minutes on boot, during which time nothing responds.

I have WinXP Pro SP1, 120gb NTFS.  Where does Windows store the command to start Scandisk or Disk Doctor on restart?  Mine is caught in a reboot loop.  Won't start in safe either.  This started after I issued a Norton Disk Doctor command.  Can't find in Technet or Symantec ...

I am new to win xp. My 40 Gig HD is only 40% full but
system info shows my available physical memory as 35mb to
55mb when I boot up. (There is 256 installed)
Is this typical?  If the RAM is being held by programs, is
