My husband & I can't seem to get our computer to
hibernate after inactivity.  We've' tried adjusting the
power control settings as well as making sure "enable
hibernation" is checked.  We have the Windows XP Home

When I try to sign on to AOL, I receive the following
error message.  When I contacted AOL, they suggested that
it was not an AOL or AOL software problem, but a system
software problem.  The error message is:

I have discovered a program listed in the Add/Remove column which is no longer
installed but the name is still there and will not remove.
Is there a way to do that?
The old version of TweakUI would do it but the new version won't.

My computer after reformating is very slow. And every so
offen shuts it self down. Something to do with nt
authority rpc?

i recently had to boot from cd to repair a file. since
then i get this message that the RPC has lost connection
or something to that effect and it gives me 1 min to shut
down all programs and logout before it forces shutdown

Just crashed due to the dreaded RPC. A Box appears and
says that NT Authority is closing down the system due to
the Remote Procedure Call (RPC)suddenly closing down. I

Has anyone used the Backup feature in XP Pro?
I cannot get it to work.
I select the files and folders to be backed up - everything except a very
large folder containing photographic images - but, when I try to start the

Is there any way I can remove a program's information from Add or Remove Programs 'currently instaled programs' list while leaving the program itself intact on my PC?

I've got a new computer. It has Windows XP home edition. It works VERY slow
in all programs!
The hardware is a Amd Atlon 1700 120Mb RAM.
I'm missing windows 98!
