When trying to restore it goes through the motions and
then says "Your computer cannot be restored to this date"
It does that at system checkpoints and preset restore

When I click Start>Help and Support, I get a message that
Windows cannot find 'helpctr.exe', yet when I search for
the file, I find it.  I can access Help from toolbars, so

Chkdsk showing free space marked as allocated in the volume bitmap. I have written to many forums about this and to Microsoft and have never received an answer I have lost 20 GBs of hard disc due to this.
