Here's a weird one: When I double click on my Recycle Bin icon, the computer
makes a noise like my hard drive is starting to spin up and then, after
about 8 or 9 seconds, the Recycle Bin finally opens. Then, when I empty the
Recycle Bin my desktop refreshes and some of the icons in ...

I need to create a backup of my registry. Can't seem to
locate simple straight forward instructions.

All of a sudden when I hit shift delete, the computer
hangs for 10 seconds or so before confirming delete, it
used to take less than a second???  Any ideas?

OK, I've run into this annoyance before but it just recently started
happening again since my last Windows Update (which seemed fairly innocuous,
updated the "Buy Music" link or something).
