My comp. keeps giving me this error message from
microsoft and then i have to restart. sometimes it saves
but doesn't in some cases. could u please help, anyone?

Because of a problem I am having I need to access my
WindowsXP CD.  The portion of the CD that I need to
access is the recovery mode.  Before I can move forward
it asks me for my Administrator password which I type in

Disc Doctor on my new computer with Windows XP, Office 97, Quicken 2004, &
Norton Utilities and Firewall gives me the following error message:

Does anyone know what that is and where do I get it?   I had it, somehow lost it and my pc has not been the same since, I can no longer burn CD's either since this has been gone

I don't appear to have any viruses yet task manager
indicates that my CPU usage is at a constant 100% and I
am assuming that is why my system is running so slow in
every program. I am on XP with a P4.

I have a Windows XP Home Edition Computer. Whenever I go
online, I get a message box that says the computer is
going to shut down and in a few seconds it does. I

alright, im sort of computer illiterate, so these
questions might sound pretty dumb, but anyway....
when i try to use disk cleanup and disk defgragmenter,
nothing happens at all, they both worked a few weeks ago,

My wifes PC is only 5 months ols.. An HP machine..the problem is that the clock is always showing wrong time...After she adjusted it. For may one or two days the clock is showin again the wrong time....Are viruses these days causing that kind of problem?
Any help???

os = windows xp home, 2 - 512mb sticks of ram, 160 gig hard drive barely used, 1.7 gig processor.
when i check "properties" under "my computer", it indicates 990mb of ram but when i check "my computer information" under "tools" in the "help and support center" it indicates "ram ...

I just installed the xp sp2 and ever since my computer
will not boot up completely. It gets to the XP screen,

In the system tray, I am having problems with the icons
loading when I restart or turn on my computer.  Sometimes
the icons will load and other times they won't.  I have
configured several of the icons to "always show", but

sometimes I get one for drwtsn.exe also.
I can't find the answer in the Knowledge Base. I have no
viruses and am current with all Microsoft updates. I can

I just built a new pc I have xp os first I tried to use
norton ghost to clone an old drive but some files didnt
transfer so I installed them oneby one. old hdd was fat
new is ntfs I am always having trouble with folders being
