I have a problem with an internal cherp,and the hour
glass shows up for just a couple of seconds at the same
time.One of my kids loaded a memory cleanser a couple of
weeks ago,I could find it,but wouldn't let me remove

one certain icons I get lines gong through them.  like the windows icon on the start button, and my windows media player plays music videos, but it comes up as sorta green with lines in it.  help a girl out please?  thank you very much

My Windows XP is freezing up every couple of minutes.  I
can type or use the mouse for 2 or 3 minutes, then it
freezes up again.  Any thoughts?

Is it possibleto tell windows XP to log the duration of
each startup item in a special log so I could see what is

i have this system32\installer\files\ directory that
contains 250mb files, such ad 297f796.msp etc.
what are those files, and can they be deleted without
harming my system?

At start up or reboot, my WinXP is very slow. generally it
takes up to 2 minutes to boot up. I am running AMD 1.01gb,
768Ram, dual harddrives with an external harddrive via
firewire.

I have an Dell Insprion 8100 Notebook and tried to use
Disk Cleanup. The program starts scanning Compress Old
Files and stops at that point. I do not receieve any
errors. Is there a way to retsore this program? I was

Would microsoft reg clean 4.1 work on windows xp home or

I have Windows XP Pro (2600SP1) installed and there is a
couple of issues that I can't find a solution to.
1. When I click on the Help & Support icon on the start

Just upgraded from 512 to 1GB of Crucial DDR-400 (PC3200) RAM - machine
runs fine, but in games, everything has slowed down. No crashes, errors,
etc.
Do I need to put a setting in the Registry or in Sys.ini like in W98?

But click on Accessories - System Tools gives the
