I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any specific method
of preventing XP, 2000 or NT from utilising 100% of the
CPU when accessing the Com Ports?
Is there Registry hack to prevent this?

I understand the pagefile.sys file is a virtual memory
source for the OS.  I have a laptop that has a
pagefile.sys file on the root of C: with a size of 786Mb.  
However, my laptop doesn't have a pagefile.sys file.

After a normal start, my computer stops responding to any
input after 10-15 minutes.  It does not do this when
starting in safe mode.  Any ideas?

I have Windows XP on a Dell Inspiron Notebook 1100 (1 year
old).  Sometimes it takes a very very long time to start
the computer. Other times it starts OK. Have had this
problem about 2 weeks now.  Disabled various startup

a simple question:
can i mirror a volume in windows xp pro ?
is there an option to do so in XP ?
(i know that i have the mirror option in win 2000).

I am trying to upgrade 98 to XP, during install i get a
blue stop screen.  The stop error is as reads 0x0000007f

I just bought a new hp desktop and when I customize the
toolbar. I get the original settings everytime I restart
my computer. Never used to get that on my old hp computer
laptop.

System keeps recycling and restarting even in safe mode.

My XP computer gets to the XP logo screen and then
