After installing XP Home I do not have an option to turn
off Monitor.

Shift in Brightness from "Plugged In" to Battery Power31 Jul 2004 22:19 GMT1
I get a very noticeable increase in the brightness of my monitor when I  
unplug my laptop and run from battery. Is this an XP thing or is it  
peculiar to my equipment? If it's XP, somebody tell me why please. I'd

I continue to get an error loading a program on the C
drive.  The message reads error loading C:\PROGRA~1

My screen went black when booting up.
I unpluged computer to turn off computer.
Restarting computer I got a message that

displayed:  Apies32.exe has encountered a problem and
needs to shut down.  I can't find any way to fix this.  
Any suggestions.
