I get a very noticeable increase in the brightness of my monitor when I unplug my laptop and run from battery. Is this an XP thing or is it peculiar to my equipment? If it's XP, somebody tell me why please. I'd like it to stay this bright when plugged in! Thanks!

Every time I start my computer, this error message is displayed: Apies32.exe has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. I can't find any way to fix this. Any suggestions.
