After installing XP Home I do not have an option to turn
off Monitor.

I get a very noticeable increase in the brightness of my monitor when I  
unplug my laptop and run from battery. Is this an XP thing or is it  
peculiar to my equipment? If it's XP, somebody tell me why please. I'd  
like it to stay this bright when plugged in! Thanks!

I have tried removing several programs in both the
Add/Remove Programs utility (in Control Panel) and via
the uninstall on the All Programs folder. The programs
are not listed in the All Programs folder and when I try

My screen went black when booting up.
I unpluged computer to turn off computer.
Restarting computer I got a message that
I could restart XP at the last good

Every time I start my computer, this error message is
displayed:  Apies32.exe has encountered a problem and
needs to shut down.  I can't find any way to fix this.  
Any suggestions.
