I had to reinstall (overwrite) windows xp pro because there were some system
problems. After the reinstall I updated everything and installed all my
programs only to find myself not able to access the old documents left over
from previous install. It gave me access denied error ...

I don't use internet expolorer, instead I use AOL. And whenever I get on AOL
internet expolorer pops up everywhere. Is there any way you can uninstall
internet expolorer?

Is there a way to change the permissions on the option to "Safely Remove
Hardware"?  As administrator, I can safely remove hardware, but not as a
normal user.  I can't seem to find anything that will allow me to change the

A problem came up a couple weeks ago, the first time I rebooted after an
optional Windows Update.  I logged in as a non-Admin user, the system
said it was checking user preferences (or something like that) and
showed an hourglass and didn't go much beyond that.

I'm trying to reinstall windows, however when I load the re-installation cd,
it says that there is a newer version on my computer than what there is on
the disk? How is that so and how can I change that? Thanks!

During a virus scan I discovered 1357 file, 78 folders in
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\config\systemprofile\Local Settings\Temp
231 MB (242,298,880 bytes)
