XP Home "disk defragmenter" can't start.30 Sep 2005 19:45 GMT3
In fact it can start, but there's no response when I click button
analyze or defagment.
To improve the performance, I set some services to manual startup.
Maybe that's the reason?

I'd welcome some advice please. I have two identical HDs at present on
my AMD Athlon XP1800, 512MB, both 60GB 7200rpm MAXTOR 6L060J3 UDMA-133

Ok I know if you go from Win9X to XP Pro it's best to format and do a clean
install but is there any advantage to do this when you go from XP Home to XP
Pro? I did my yearly clean install of XP Home a couple of months ago so not
much junk is there.

I am sure this points to a machine problem more than office, but it involves
office, so here it goes:
If I click on an office file, it takes upwards of 10 minutes for the

I was getting some annoying 'messenger service' popups, and read in the
