When I had XP Home Edition, I could go to Help and Support to look at and
modify the programs which load at startup.  Now I have XP Media Edition and
that does not appear to be an option.  Is there a way to do this?

I've been told Windows performance begins to degrade drastically if
the HDD is more than half full.  Seems pretty unlikely off hand, but
apparently that's the first question Best Buy techs ask anyone looking
for performance tweaking - how full is the drive?!

I have an unusual problem for which I have not found any previous reference
to in these posts.
My screen resolution is set to 1024x768. All pages and font sizes,
everywhere, throughout the interface and in IE, appear in a normal font

I'm trying to find out if this is an external drive problem or a Windows
(XP) problem.
My external drive (H:) is connected to my computer via firewire. The other
day, the firewire cable fell out of its jack at the external drive. I've

I really don't know much about computers, but a day or two ago, the sound
coming out of my laptop speakers started to skip slightly.  It went from that
to stopping for seconds at a time.  And then, finally it completely stopped.  
The music player was on play like nothing happened ...

I just re formated my computer and now when i move windows, scroll in a
window, it doesn't move smoothly. it is almost a studder. it moves/scrolls in
pieces and not smoothly. i don't  know how else to explain it any better. i
don't even know where to start to fix the problem.

Almost all programs in Start|All programs are listed twice and I have
two identical icons for almost every item in Control Panel.
I have been having numerous problems with Kaspersky Security Suite and
