I'm having a real problem with windows update not installing some updates I
select, not only that but if I turn on automatic updates the PC picks the
updates up ok but when it says shut down to install them they never get
installed. I know this cause the next time I go to shut ...

I have my computer set for the screen saver to deploy in 18 min & to go into
standby in 20 min.
However, for the past several months, the screen saver deploys as it should,
but the computer never goes into standby.

Running XPSP2, plenty HDD space and 2GB CAS2 RAM.
My Init and Max size is 3070MB. The OS reports the pagefile as existing on C:
but it's actually on a little-used and separate HDD, ( junction/reparsed via
linkd.exe).

Explorer exe crashes when I open a folder or view drives in my
computer.
My system has been deeply scanned by a number of mail
ware scanners and I run NOD32 AV, A2squared, Spyguard

i got sent a message from a friend to download this fantastic thing called
IM-NAMES it promised to give great names for friends and family on messenger
a bit like the wee peeps thing.. anyway i downloaded it and it was totally

I upgraded from Win98SE to WinXP Home Edition.  Is there a way to take some
of the unused space on the c-drive and create an extended partition from the
unused space (then create logical drives in the extended partition)?

I keep having this Local Area Network bubble popping up with a X in a box.  
and then says A network cable is unplugged.  And if I hit the arrow at the
bottom right of my screen next to my time, there are about 400 of the little
twin monitors with the X at the bottom of them.  ...

This is a recent problem. Windows shuts itself off for no apparent reason
while I am reading/writing email, working with a word processor, or if I
leave it on for over about 15 minutes. I daily use Adaware and Registry First
Aid to police the system and neither showed any ...

i have a new pc & broadband..i like to play online games on yahoo or real
