Worked fine one day, then next day, won't start up.
Windows XP Pro.  Fairly current patches, but probably not the very latest.
Turn on computer, get the splash screen briefly, then it goes blank.
Computer is still on, but no activity.

Two months ago, I bought a new computer, Gateway GT5032. I thought with an

my computer often shut downs with a warning when i use it with LAN and
internet setting concurrently.
system shut down within 3 or 5 minutes when i change internet setting.
system doesn't shut down in LAN setting but with internet setting.

Is the some place I can that lists and event ID codes and explains them?
If it listed possible cause would be to must to hope for.
Any help with how to use System Log Errors to trouble shoot problem would be
greatly appreciated.

my task manager stoped responding to the ctrl+alt+del command and won't open
if I right click the start bar and click it. this started happening right
after I unistalled msn 7.5 with plus addon.

I've just installed pc-Cillin and it's found a virus called TROJ AGENT.FZ
PC-Cillin told me that it couldn't quarantine the file or remove it
automatically, and that I would have to remove it manually.
Could somebody please tell me how to do that?

hi i beleive the problem originally started with spyware which i got rid of
but this may be coincidence.  doing a disk clean up the compressed files
started to increase each time i did a clean up.   then i did disk defrag  it
was a okay but as i progressed to try and get rid of ...

I recently turned off my offline files as I do not need them anymore.  I also
performed the delete files before doing this.  Unfortunately my CSC is still
out there will signifcant data.  Can I just delete everything in the CSC
files manually without causing issues?
