Totally disabled, no funds for extra software, but suspect that Registry has errors. No free fixes on Shareware, only scans that say 100+ errors and problems. Computer operates OK, but takes too long to laod on startup and opening programs. Any free fixes available?

My daughter purchased a thumb drive for her son but her computer doesn't see it although it is seen by other computers. It also doesn't see a USB external cd-rom drive. Her USB is enhanced. Running XP SP2, P4-1.8, 30Gig HD, 256MB Ram.Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

Screen goes blank in Windows XP; the power button on PC is green but monitor light is amber. Cannot use keyboard, etc. in safe mode it does not seem to do this. Power settings are all set to never. any ideas?

Screen freezes for no apparent reason, I have to hold the on/off button until it reboots, it sometimes hangs while rebooting then I do the same and get a screen asking if I want to start in safe mode etc. have looked in the event viewer and the event number is always 7000.
