I am running XP pro, but have  one item that is driving me nuts.  Excessive
Hard Drive activity!  I am thinking my hard drive lifetime is going to be
severely shortened, with it being accessed about every 3 seconds for long
periods.

My WinXP Pro SP2 won't show my total RAM of 4GB, only showed 3GB.
How to fix it?
I have 4 x 1GB ram inserted, my bios showed 4pcs populated.

when I went to do a defrag an error message came up stating "RUN CHKDSK/f."
what does this mean? and can I get rid of this?

My screen goes blank when i close it.  Seems to go into standby mode.  moving
the mouse is ineffective at returning the machine to windows. i know it may
be a setting of some sort i just don't know where to look!! Help!!

My son's PC will not boot up and the error message reads

IHere's the deal: I have a 27GB HD that regularly says it has <1GB full, but
when I count the files using a third-party product I get ~15GB worth of files.

The Windows System restore facility on my PC does not work. It has been
working for over a year. Restore is enabled, but whenever I try to perform a
restore it keeps saying that it was unable to do it.
