My computer will not fully defragment. It gets a small percentage through and then stops saying "Some files could not be defragmented". Please help. Aaron

I have some files that can't be opend or deleted. They have no file extension (Yes, I used the option to show extensions for the folder). Windows explorer says they contain 0 bytes. When I try to delete, I get an error dialog thatsays:

I was recently attempting to reformat my computer. Before doing so I moved all of my data onto a removable USB hard drive. When in the XP Setup I accidently deleted the partition of the removable hard drive instead of my primary hard drive that I wanted.

OK....so heres the deal...about a month ago or so... Everytime I pressed the "on" button on my pc...my power supply would start....you could hear the hard drive start to boot up...and then BLAM!....the pc shuts off before it even gets to the boot screen. No blue screen of death ...

I seem to be held up in startup while Windows WGA is phoning home. My software is all properly licensed. Seems my startup is dependent on MS website authentication / speed. I have all of the new August 8th patch Tuesday updates and that seems to be when it started.
