Just rec'd mail with MPEG2 attachment. When I try to open the message comes
'File does not have a proramme association, create one in folder options.

Whenever I open My Computer including its contents like My Pictures, Control
Panel, and Recycle Bin, etc., what I clicked does not open and instead the
DEP window pops up saying:

After about 15 or 20 minutes after boot up, most Background processes
suddenly show a massive increase in the amount of memory they hoard.
Can be observed, when you go to Task Manager/Processes/Mem Usage.
The machine slows down, and the Page File Usage increases proportionally.

When starting XP, I get an error message that hppapmIO.exe failed to load.  
What is this exe file?  Do I need to fix this?  How can I fix it?

My computer keeps going on standby after 30 seconds or so.  Sometimes if I
leave it on overnight, I will wake up and it will be on standby.  I have
adjusted all the settings in the display properties to never go on standby...
but it still does!

 I have Dell Dimension 3000 Desktop with Microsoft XP Home edition.
When ever I Logged in and open explorer, it shoots up to 99% CPU
utilization.
If I kill explorer process it comes back to normal. If I start again it
