that I either should choose a specific date or create a restore point,,,which
one should I choose?? I have to go back almost a year. I don't understand

My computer is getting slower and slower - it takes about 10 minutes to open
Internet explorer after switchng on.  The hard drive sounds as if it is

When I click on "Start", "Turn Off Computer", then "Restart" or "Turn Off",
all I get is a quick screen flash. Nothing happens. The compute goes back to
normal operation with no hangs or errors.
When I perform the shutdown routine a second time, everything works fine. No

I have a four year old computer with Windows XP Home.  Generally, this
computer has done me very well, and still runs pretty good for it's age.  
However, over the years, I have had to reformat it several times due to
various malfunctions.
