I'm trying to wipe out the contents of my father-in-law's Thinkpad
reinstall Windows XP (home) and start over.

I've recovered my pc from a virus/trojan, mostly, but have a new problem with
services.exe slowly building in memory usage.
Things were fine until the virus/trojan hit.
Ran AdAware, SpyBot, HijackThis and a generic antivirus from the web; in

Whenever I try to shut down my system freezes at the log off screen where it
says system is shutting down. It just never can shut down past that screen.

MISTAKE - TRIED TO COPY OS FOR A BACKUP04 Sep 2006 20:22 GMT1
Quite a while back I tried to copy Windows to disk but of course it was
too large to write to a CD (and a dumb idea to start with).  That
folder has been in my CD Burning directory ever since.  I need to know
how to get these "temporary files" out of my CD burner so I can use it.
