Good day and thank you for reviewing this question.  I was fixing to start up
in Safe Mode so that I could run a virus detection program there versus in
Windows XP.  So I went to MSCONFIG, BOOT.INI, and chose SAFEBOOT, like I
normally do.

I have three machines running winxp pro sp2, identical set up, and identical
problem. I have run the spyware and checked for viruses, dfrag, and clean my
disk, etc.
Here is my problem: I get 100% CPU utilization only when I copy something to

I have just run disc cleanup now all my file colours have changed from black
to blue text which is harder to read. Any ideas how I can change them back.
System is working fine. Newer files since the clean up are still showing in
Black type. Any help appreciated.

I am trying to track down a random shutdown issue. I am so far unable to
locate the info and or tools to solve this issue.
My computer is a Compaq laptop with a processer that is not really designed

I found that pictures I have downloaded from web sites are now included in my
selection of images for Desktop backgrounds. How did this happen and how do I
delete them from this application?

My WinXP desktop has just started showing a window during the shutdown
process. The window says explorer.exe is being shutdown. Press end to
shutdown immediately, etc. This has either just started or I have

running xp-pro-fat32.  wifes office comp is the same.  she has a medical
program that is about 110 mb.  she uses 2 different sandisk for daily
backup, usb-2.  Takes about 15 minutes for this, really slow.

To all I ask...I have consistantly had problems with sp2 causing brain farts
with my system...It has gotten to the point of needing to do a fresh install
of win xp sp2 (slipstreamed disc) on a 2nd drive and then one by one adding
my programs and games to it until I find out where ...

I cannot read or write to DVD R/RW disks because the disks are "full."   On
My Computer the both the disk size and free space show up as 0 bytes.  The CD
R/RW disks work fine.
Downloaded and ran Autofix.exe and reinstalled the driver several times in

I recently moved some files from an old HDD that i put into a USB enclosure.
Now that the files are in a folder on my desktop the folder is corupt or
something.
Whenever I try to click ( right or left ), move or even delete the folder it
