I did a dumb thing.
I set the system resources to memory cache from programs in XP home edition.
Now I can't get windows to load.
Can anyone advise me on how to reset to the resources to programs?

This has been a MAJOR problem for me the last couple of months and I feel
like I've tried everything to fix it to no avail.

OS (Windows XP) figuring to start over with my PC.  I thought that by
reinstalling Windows XP, I'd be erasing (or reformatting) my hard drive.

I hope someone can help.  My Dell Latitude with 1GB Ram running XP pro is
unbelievably slow.  I suspect it's explorer.exe as it often floats to the top
of the CPU cycles in Task Manager.

I'm using Windows XP service pack2. I have McAfee Virusscan 7 plus installed.
The
problem is that when I put on my laptop, only the desktop is shown without
the icons, taskbar and buttons. I had to restart 2-3 times to get the desktop
