I have a rather large file on my W98 system that I would like to move to my
XP system, I have tried a file splitter utility which splits and put the file
back together fine on the W98 system but will not work on the XP system.

I tried to move a big file of photos (around 1.3gb) from my C drive to D
drive, as it was running out of space. For whatever reason though, halfway
through it cancelled telling me there wasn't enough free space on D (even
though I thought there was after I'd cleared some space).

I have a Dell Latitude that is almost three years-old.  The thing is just
about worthless at this point.  Everything I do requires 100% CPU.  I've
updated my antivirus software and downloaded AdAware and Spybot - to no
avail.  I don't want to reformat my hardrive as it would take ...

I keep getting thes envelope icons in my tool bar next to the clock.  It
happens if Outlook is opened or closed and when I click on them it says
Microsoft Outlook operation failed.  Any ideas?

I cant get sound when playing cd's, dvd's, cd-roms, no system sounds nothing,
i have gone through the whole of the sound troubleshoot and have had no luck
everything seems to be set up ok on my computer but i just can't hear

Windows XP Home was pre-loaded on my machine when I bought it. I did not
receive Program Disks with my purchase, only "Recovery" Disks. I do not have
the "Value Added" Back Up program installation capabilities. How can I Back
Up my Hard Drive/System without the program?

I dont know why my new computer is running so slow.  I just go a new HP

I am having a problem in that my XP will not shut down.  I am forced to hit
the switch to shut down.  It just sits there making me look foolish.  I am
sure that I am missing a file somewhere along the way.....

Whenever a disk (any type) is inserted in disk drive, I have to manually
launch ie. Power DVD for a video or Realplay for a music CD.  I went to disk
drive properties and set "prompt me each time disk inserted" but didn't work.
Windows corruption??

I moved my system pagefile to a separate partition. The partition is 3 GB.
The pagefile is 3GB minus 5 MB (initial and max sizes are the same).
Now XP is constantly popping up the warning message, letting me know that
the partition is almost out of space -- but it will never fill ...
