I notice that "Disk Cleanup" lacks an option to clear out the folder
"<Sys Drive>:\Documents and Settings\<Current User>\Local Settings\Temp"
even though it can grow to many gigs in size.
Can the files in this folder be safely deleted manually?

Each and every time Defrag completes, the report results shows approximately
83,000 fragmented files.  I've searched many Windows XP databases, but have
been unable to find a way to simply delete these useless, fragmented files.

To solve some nagging registry/performance issues, I took a blunt instrument
approach and simply did a reinstall of XP.  Mostly everything turned out
fine.

I recently purchased a SeaGate 320gb hard drive and did a fresh install of XP
Home edition, downloaded all updates (including SP2). Unfortunately, Windows
only partitioned the first 128GB of the drive as the bootable sector, leaving
170gb unpartitioned.

I had to move My Documents from its default %userprofile% location to a

Hello all – in something of a mess here and any help gratefully received!  
In tidying up, using a file shredder to do so, I think I have been far too
keen, and deleted a load of key operating files.  Problems that I have found
so far:

BSOD's.  I still have "Enable error reporting" enabled along with both check

When I am surfing the net, after a while a message appears telling me I am
low on Virtual Memory. Everything almost grinds to a halt. Is there something
I can do to sort this ? It seems to be getting worse.  I clean unwanted files
regulary etc etc, but still get the same trouble.
