I thought the paging file was for when the computer ran low on ram it would use part of the hard disk to keep up to speed. So shouldn't my computer run faster? and if not can someone help me speed it up? I'm in college taking up surgical tech and my computer is my only study ...

It appears that when we start XP from a cold start (i.e. the computer has been off for several hours) it boots in a reasonable amount of time (less than 2 minutes). However if it is restarted or we shut it off and start it a few minutes later it takes between 10 and 30 minutes ...

Whenever I run this program it does not delete the item "Webclient/Publisher Temporary Files" even though it says it is safe to do so. The file size always stays the same (in my case 96KB). How can I delete it?

My grandson crashed my machine. The only programs that I can get to open at all are internet explorer and outlook express. I have rebooted in safe mode, tried a good configuration, tried to run scans etc...nothing will open at all. Need help
