My CPU is running at 100% most of the time.  When I open Windows Task
Manager, it shows the file SSCEvtHdlr.exe running at 80 to 99 cpu.  To stop
this, I have to reboot.  
Anyone have any reason as to why and how I can stop it?

no history just black dot history (ctrl-h) have to recover it from my norton
ghost then gone next day tryed run regsvr 32 / i shdocvw.dll no luck what
abouth my norton internet security blocking it tryed moveing the file

I just tried to use system restore after a spate of BSODs, and when I clicked
the final "next" button in system restore, the pointer switched to an egg
timer for a moment and then nothing happened. What might have happened?

After much trouble trying image one hard drive to another (with Norton Ghost
2003), I took my wife's Dell D400 to our local computer shop. They did the
image (but couldn't get Ghost or Acronis to work so used Partition Magic 8)

I have just added RAM to my PC increasing in from 2gb to 3gb.  However I
have a problem when I right click on my computer select properties I am only
being shown 2GB not 3GB as it should be.  
Is windows recognising 3GB?  If not is there anything I need to do to pick

I recently came across a large number of files in the Windows folders that I
am curious as to their purpose. The files basically all read
$NtUninstallKBXXXX$. They are highlighted in blue.
Can these be deleted?

Task mgr is reporting 50% CPU utilization while computer is idle!! .  Is this
normal?  Never looked until lately.  My computer is a  P4 3.2 mhz with 2 gig
ram and two 10,000 rpm SATA hard drives.  Opening up any file wil take CPU

My wife and I  each have an XP Home Edition Desktop.  Her startup and her
shutdown often lead to an error message ( usually something about a
sysmanager.dll, but not always) and a failure to start up or shutdown
