Using XP, what is the proper way to backup the system (on a portable hard
drive or cd-rom) or at least "My Documents"?

message everytime windows XP starts up, the file is present in C:\i386
C:\Windows C:\windows\system32 and c:\windows\creative\SBAudigy\win2K_xp

Hi:  When selecting "thumbnails" in the View Options no pictures appear.  
Selecting "Filmstrip" in the View Options draws a blank too; no preview, no
thumbnails there either.
Is it time for an XP reload?

Tried to run system recovery on a PC with Windows XP that I replaced and want
to donate to a school. Went to quick format to erase all data files and
installed applications. Recovery started but stopped (several times) at

I'm trying to run the onecare live scan but keep getting script errors 2, 90,
49, 51 etc.  What can I do?

From other posts I can see that the back up will not work with a cd.  Is
backing it up to another drive (d) the only way to back up my files besides
buying an external hard drive.  How do I back up to the d drive.  And if I
have a system crash, wouldn't that drive also crash?

I accidently deleted several folders of photos from My Pictures.  I think
that the problem arose as I was attempting to move some photos from one
folder to another.  I apparently held down the SHIFT key causing the
