Please can you help? I can't access email attachments or download software as
I get a message saying the file or path can't be found and I may not have the
right permissions. This has only happened recently so what have I done or not
done?

Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to view this file.  Would you like to

We have a XP SP2 system that was corrupted by an old product install
resulting in the problem described here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324762.  Notably, MSVCRT.DLL gets clobbered
by the installer.  However, how can this problem occur if Windows File

I am getting error message "Files that are required fro Windows to run
properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions.  To maintain system
stability Windows must restore the original versions of these files.  Insert
XP Professional SP3 CD now".  Cannot do this because XP ...

I installed a temp. bowser program that cleaned away your history for windows
xp and my wife deleted it and the recycle bin. I got the the bin back on the
desktop but it will not open or allow me to name it either as the recycle
bin. I just won't my bin to be working again. HELP ...

I keep getting this error message and I can't open any of my programs, I
think my registry is messed up or something.  None of my start up
applications will start and i have 57 error messages sitting on my screen.  I
can't even access the internet without having to find a program ...

All of my links on my desktop or program list have my icons stripped and
replaced with the standard non-descript placekeeper.  When I click on any of
them, including Word or Excel I get the message that  Windows cannot open
this file - search on the internet or pick from list.

PC sluggish even after running Norton 360. Task Manager shows over 90% System
Idle Process AND %CPU Usage at bottom of dialog at 50% at the same time! I
believe the %CPU number because other applications send it to 100% and
everything crawls, (and %Idle still showing 80-90% ...

XP Pro, sp2, all critical updates applied, 100MB nic. This PC is slow to open
any files that reside on any server when trying to open it using My Computer
or Windows Explorer.
But when opening any files from within the application itself such as

When XP compresses  old files to save space, does it compress system files as well? Program files? Or only files created by user?
Once those files are accesed again,  are they automatically re-compressed?  Or does that depend on running Disk Cleanup again?

I run a WXP SP3 installed from a WXP GA CD. All fixes and fix packs received
from MS have been sucessfully installed. One outcome is, that C:\Windows
contains appr. 1 GB of data in ~ 150 of directories ($hf_mig$, $NTUninstall,
...) partly packed already. Nevertheless my virus ...
