I cannot see my networked printer when adding printer  ... help!

Hello - Does anyone know the maximum # of LAN printers
someone can set up on a workstation (lets say Windows XP)?

when printing from xp there is a delayed printing time of
about 10 secs.  Have edited reg entry lpt_timeout from 15
to 3 secs which worked for about half a day, but is now
still delayed.

I have setup fax console using the wizard to recieve
faxes automatically after 2 rings using a external modem.
I know it must be working because I can successfully send
a fax but not receive one, the only error message i get

using xp-home edition .My hp officejet pro 1170cxi worked great when i had windows98se.  Now i did a hard drive format and fresh install of xp and my scanned document come in shades of gray or pink.
Hp says no printer dricvers necessary as they come in windows..but the results are ...
