I have used MS fax for ages. Wimxp sp1 office 2003 pro.
New pc 3.2g hyperthreading etc etc hangs and locks pc on receive.
PC is standalone.
Any suggestions.

XP workstations with SP2 on a Win2k Server network (Gigabit).
Printing PDF docs takes extremely long time and printers spit out one page
every few seconds as opposed to one after another.
Tested a 20 page basic Word doc--no problem.

I'm not able to add a printer driver using the standard printer wizard or
otherwise.  I get the generic message, "Printer driver was not installed.  
Operation could not be completed."  I'm logged on as administrator, the
spooler is running, I've installed SP2, and this problem ...

i adjusted NAV 2005 to hopefully use fax, unchecking default trojan

I am using an older, custom written database that is DOS based.  When I try
to print, there is a 20-30 second delay unless there is a large amount of
data being printed (i.e. 20+ lines of text).  I have tried the correct driver
for the printer as well as several generic drivers ...
