I have several Windows 2000 workstations to manage.
Unfortunately, there is no domain controller.
To make life easier, I would like to allow the users (with no admin
rights) to install printers.

OS 2003 Server with Fax
Clients XP SP2.
Server is part of a domain, clients not part of the domain.
Requirement: To Use server as Fax resource.

There is a Hp Laserjet II and there is a problem when it prints - it prints
one page and then pends for about 3 5 mns before it prints the next page - so
result a free page text document takes about 10 mins to print
print spooler is on the printer settings and started in services

Networked printer, document in print queue wll not delete.  Document is from
program which runs from the server.
Have already tried stopping the print spool service and deleting the
document from c:\windows\system32\spool\printers and restarting the print

I am currently attempting to set up a Lexmark 2300 series printer and am
having trouble becasue the "Print spooler" service is not active, the lexmark
set up attempts to start this service but cannot.
I have attempted to start the service manualy via windows managment but get

I have an HP a1230n computer running XP MCE, together with an HP PSC
2210 All-in-one printer connected thru USB.
With the printer connected at boot time, the computer refuses to boot. The
boot sequence just does not start, no XP splash screen or nothing.

i am developing an application with the extended fax services that should
work with both W2k and XP on the client side,
and Small Business Server 2000 and Small Business Server 2003 on the Server

I cannot print a word doc. from Microsoft Word. I can print from Microsoft
Excel, wordpad, notepad and web pages. I am using a dell wireless laptop
(Inspiron 8500) and the printer is a HP 3210.

When I click on Print/Properties/PaperQuality/Advanced/Paper Size I do not
have the following entries listed in the drop down menu:-
Index Card 3x5 and Custom(8.50x11.00)
I would like to know how to include them.

When starting, Fax Console displays the error "all fax printers are
inaccessible"
Have replaced the Modem with one which works fine on another PC. Same error.
Have uninstalled and done a fresh install of fax services but no joy!

I'm running an IBM ThinkPad with XP to a Brother MFC 4600. At least once a
day the print job I send will produce pages with anywhere from 1 to about 50
symbols/numbers, usually in the top half of the page but generally random
