Seeking Printer forum

I have a problem printing on XP sp2 with my Lexmark X8350 when I
switch to a different user account.
The strange part is that whichever account I log onto first "gets" the
printer.  If I log on to the Admin account, I can print from there -

I got a new canon printer.  After downloading it I get the message that the
driver can't find a port.  A port shows as having been selected however.  Any
ideas on how to get the new printer to communicate?  Our old printer had no
