I receive the following error box when I try to see the properties of my HP

When I turned on my printer (HP DeskJet 3840 Series) the light on the
printer(on/off button) just flickers on and off. I can't print anything, but
the computer sends what I want to print to the printer itself. I can see that
it wants to print because it's waiting in the printing ...

I cleared the Header and Footer in my page setup, and now I want to restore
them.  As long as I'm at it, I'd like to see a complete list of available
variables .

i continue to have problems. I just had someone from MS help me to download a
lot of updates. after 4 weeks of not being able to... i thought the installer
was finally working but its gone "dump" again.    I will not install my CD
office student 2003 or the updates for office ...

Photo has 2:3 aspect ratio. Using XP Printing,  I'm printing a 4x6 borderless
picture and the printed picture gets cropped top and bottom. My printer is HP
8450.
Using Irfanview, same settings, the 2:3 photo prints with a white border on
