(non)use of "document image writer"01 Apr 2008 00:09 GMT1
when I try to print a document from "document image writer" in the file/print
pull-down, that option does not come up on the pull-down .... can I somehow
(re)install this option? I am using XP. THanks, Brian

The Send Fax Wizard, when used from an application to print to the fax
queue, is failing consistently on my computer.  Sometime I get the following
application event error entry (but most of the time none):
Cannot print downloaded PDF file29 Mar 2008 14:23 GMT2
Printer works fine but will not print PDF file. Printer attempts to satr
printing but does not complete the process. Nothing shows in printer queue.
Any suggestions

Each time I try to print from any application, I get the error message:
“(application name) has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are
sorry for this inconvenience.”
The data goes to the printer and, after I close the error window, the

I would like to print a poster on the above printer that has been compiled to
fit 8-1/2 x 17 paper, this is 3 inches longer than Legal size (8=1/2 x 14).  
Is there a way to get the printer to cooperate with this project, with hand

i have a printer (see above) and WinXP... it will not print my documents. it
brand new... this yr 2/2007 bought it.   it was printing, then it stopped.  
it may or may not print a full page... but most of the time it starts it..
prints 3 lines and then shots out all the paper... ...

Like a dope, I installed the wrong printer driver.  Now my computer thinks my
printer is a MFC5500.  I can't seem to delet these programs or drivers the

I have a lexmark x5150 printer installed on a XP Home desktop.  I have the
printer shared.  I can connect with a XP Pro laptop and print.  I cannot
connect with a Vista Premium laptop.  I checked the additional drivers
section under the printer sharing tab and it does not list ...

When printing any size doccument, the right edge of the paper has dark
streaks on it.

Task manager tells me that the print spooler in XP Pro (spoolsv.exe) is
running constatnly and consuming fully 50% of the CPU.  No other programs
running.  Can you help with this problem?  It only happens on one of four XP
Pro machines I use.

I have a strange problem with XP Fax Services. I am using a Dell XPS410 with
XP MCE SP2 with all security and Hot Fixes up to date.
I can successfully install Fax Services, configure and use it. I can send
Faxes with no problems. I can send Faxes from MS Word.

I am embarressed to even admit this problem, but here goes : I need to
install FAX services on my computer (running XP Home SP2 - don't laugh, it
was given to me) and the problem is I can't find the XP disk anywhere.  Other
than going out and buying a copy (Pro this time) is ...

in the past it was ok. Now i get the message: cannot view because o.s. does
not have a standard viewer for faxes (tif.files). When i use system recovery
to an earlier date, all goes well... for a few hours. I also have Adobe
Photoshop 2 installed (although for over one yr) and ...
