I'm looking for the software utility. that will let me connect to my xp pro machine through its modem by dialing the land line number it is connected to, but dial that number from a computer(diff windows os but no earlier than 98) with a broad band connection. Not modem to modem

I need to set up a fully encrypted authentication, outside channels,etc. tunnel from my laptop (XP Pro) to the XP Desktop. I can setup a basic VPN and connect but it isn't secure. Can someone help?

I set up a machine to auto login on startup, since it is physically secure and no need for entering the password each time. But after connecting remotely and disconnecting, it remains in the welcome screen.
