Since about last month I cannot do remote desktop to my home computer
anymore (Windows XP Pro SP2). I'm using Time-Warner cable service
connecting via Linksys router. I'm using a non-standard port, and that
port is forwarded to the computer in the router. I double checked the

We have several machines behind a single firewall using remote desktop.
We can connect to all but one of them.  When we try we get the message
"The client could not connect to the remote computer".

I have problems setting up RD on a computer running Windows XP professional
over the internet while everything works fine over lan. This is the same for
VNC. On Windows 2000 computers vnc works fine.

The set up:  A windows xp machine running VPN incoming connections behind an
ADSL router (that has been configured).  All the settings are default
(connect using username and password, etc).  The pc is using a dynamic dns to

If I fire up the RDC I get the "Computer" dropdown with a list
of hosts which I have connected to recently. How do I clear this
list - it's full of machines which no longer exist and which get
